UPCOMING HIKE

October 21st, 2006

ANOTHER ADDED NOTE: I have only had about 8 people respond this time and of those 8 some can't go and the rest are waffling.....mmmm....waffles. Anyway, if you do happen to go today I can't promise anyone else will be there. Lets try again for after Hallowe'en shall we? That would be November the 4th. Bring your suntan lotion!

ADDED NOTE: Since putting this notice up and e-mailing everyone there's been a little injury incident.
Emma our little princess was chased by a brute of a hound and came away injured with a torn ACL (ACU? ALU?) ..err... a limpy footsie.
She is probably going to require surgery and wont be hiking for a while. Her Mom (me) herniated a disk trying to rescue her from the brute and I wont be able to hike this Saturday either.
Please do not cancel the hike on account of me. Most of you know each other by now and for those of you who don't, may I suggest a signal so that the rest will know who you are, such as....wearing your underwear on the outside for one, screech and dance around like a monkey with fleas... something that will make you stand apart from the crowd.
One last thing, if you have a dog and it isn't trained to heel, please, please, please don't let it off the leash. Emma's going to have to get a job as it is to pay for this one.
END OF ADDED NOTE

We are having another hike/beer fest!
This one will be at Lynn Canyon.

Meeting time: 3:00 pm Saturday.
Meeting Place: Lynn Canyon Ecology Center
Parking: Parking lot at the end of Peters road.
Pub: Reservations will be at 6:00 at the Black Bear Pub in Lynn Valley Center

Click here for a map of the area.

Click here for a map of the trails.

PLEASE click on the 'e-mail me' link to your left and let me know if you are coming so I can decide whether or not I want to show up or not (and also make reservations at the pub). The route of the hike hasn't been decided on. There are a lot of trails and suspension bridges etc. to take.
The Ecology center has maps so grab one while you are there.
This hike is not as hard as the Rock hike but I still recommend good shoes because the stairs can be slippery.
Again, good spot to bring a camera. Also bring water and survival snackie cakes - chocolate preferred.
NOTE: for those wanting to bring dogs - certain trails do not allow dogs. Pocket dogs only.
SAFETY FIRST! Remember folks it's bear season! If you see a bear on the trail coming towards you, whatever you do, don't come running to me.
CANCELLATION! Check this website before you leave. If it decides to downpour I will post a cancellation notice.
